2007 Auto Club 500 recap
Matt Kenseth streaked to victory in the Auto Club 500 at California Speedway, completing a weekend sweep of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series races at the 2.0-mile speedway. Kenseth collected his 15th Cup win in beating pole-sitter Jeff Gordon to the finish line by .679 seconds.
Kevin Harvick, who was gaining ground on Matt Kenseth before the race was red-flagged on Lap 243 for a crash involving David Reutimann, cut his left front tire as the cars were rolling under caution and came to the pits as Kenseth took the green flag to start Lap 247.
Jimmie Johnson finished third, followed by Jeff Burton and Mark Martin.
Clint Bowyer, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers completed the top 10.

WHOM TO WATCH
Jimmie Johnson was stung at Daytona with an ill-handling No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. A native Californian, Johnston knows how to win at Fontana, and he and his team wants to re-establish themselves as the guys to beat for the 2008 Sprint Cup championship.
The Toyotas were the strongest cars last week in Florida and should be again at the big California track. Tony Stewart and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin, want to make up for their mistakes at the Daytona 500.
Patrick Carpentier had the fastest Dodge all week at Daytona but a cut tire in the Gatorade Duel 150s kept him out of the race. His No. 10 Gillett Evernham Motorsports car won't suffer the same fate here.
